French one-piece carriage clock by Drocourt

15cm (handle up)

French, so-called one-piece carriage clock by Drocourt, c. 1860.

The upper part of the case was brazed together into one piece when it was made, hence the name. The clock was made for the English market by the well-known company Drocourt. In lower part of the front of the clock the monogram F S is engraved, along with a date: December 1868. These initials are also impressed in the top of the original leather-covered travelling case.

The clock has an eight-day movement with its original English lever platform escapement, half hour striking on a bell and repetition.
