Repair of a 17th century bracket clock by Henry Jones

This is the front plate of an early bracket by Henry Jones. It was restored some time ago but suddenly the hands began to behave funnily. It appeared that een old repair of the post on which the reverse minute wheel turns had come loose which allowed the hour wheel to get detached and therefore indicated the wrong time every now and again. The base of the post is original but the very thin post itself must have broken off and a new one was screwed into the base. I secured it with loctite which should solve the problem.
